Would you be proud of me if you were present here with us?

My grandmother, let me start off by saying you are dearly missed. There’s been a lot that has transpired since your passing in 2017.

I like to make a benchmark comparison of the progress of my life by using my parents. I think its only fair. If a child is born and becomes worse than their parents, then was the investment wasted?

I indeed think so. For even the Bible says that the father lays the foundation and the son puts on the gate.

Looking back at the major milestones from 2017 , at age of 30, and considering the strenuous living conditions in Jamaica, i was able to:

Get my first degree, get married, get a new vehicle, been promoted 4 times, become a Justice of the Peace, become a father, and become an assistant youth president and Jnr. minister at church (you raised me in church).

I currently have a few more goals pending, such as finishing my Masters degree, and goals that I have yet to start, such as owning a home. I pray that the Lord opens up doors for these breakthroughs.

Considering that the average 30-year-old male in Jamaica is not this accomplished, I extend my gratitude to the heavens above and show love to myself for doing as much as I could.

All in all, I know you would be proud of me, Grandma Joyce, so I’m proud of myself.
